ZINA TRAN

Hi there—I’m Zina Tran, a licensed esthetician based in San Gabriel. My interest in skincare began at a young age, as I struggled with acne growing up. It caused a lot of insecurities for me and I never felt confident in my bare face. From trying different product lines to home remedies, I tried anything to help treat my own skin. When I finally started going to an esthetician, I was amazed at the work of estheticians and that a career dedicated to helping others treat their skin existed! 

From the clients I’ve met through my time at school and at work, my priority has always been to help clients find confidence in their own skin. My esthetician was the one who helped me find confidence in my skin, so I hope to pay it forward and help others in the same way. I work to stay educated on all the latest developments in skincare and to learn the ins and outs of the skin to not only help my clients, but to also educate themselves about their skin.

All my treatments are customized to every client’s needs and what can be best provided for them based on their skincare concerns, their schedules, and their flexibility. I hope to help everyone find their inner glow.

why “unfiltered”?

When you think of the word “unfiltered”, what are the first things that come to mind? For me, some words that come to mind are “no filter”, “natural”, “not perfect”, “raw”, “authentic”, and “unedited”. I once read a quote in an article that really stuck with me. “Living life unfiltered is a way of living that can be summed up by being authentic and sincere” (Amber Clarke). I think in this modern world that we live in, we often compare ourselves to people we see in the media. We are always finding new insecurities as we pick ourselves apart, trying to figure out why we don’t look like the celebrities or influencers that we see on our screens. I, myself, am guilty of feeling like this at a point in my life. However, my hope, and the reason why I pursued this career, is because I want to help others find beauty in their own skin. I want to help you achieve the results you want; to help you find confidence and find your inner glow. I want you to embrace your perfections and imperfections and to love your raw, unfiltered self. 

My Philosophies

  • Every individual has different skin, which is why every facial I provide is customized to the individual’s skincare concerns. I believe that every client’s skin is individual to themselves. So, I don’t believe there is a universal protocol for every single skin type. Instead, I enjoy getting to learn more about each client through in depth consultation and discussion. Through this, I can achieve a better understanding of their skin after learning more about their lifestyle, diet, and routine, and come up with the most effective treatment that will cater to their needs.

  • Western skincare is known to utilize more abrasive products and treatments that are harsh on the skin. On the other hand, Korean skincare approaches the skin in a gentle manner. It aims to nurture and balance the skin’s natural barrier. Every ingredient and product is used with intention to help with a common purpose, to help us provide our skin with the best care. The combination of traditional and natural ingredients helps us produce the most effective results within our skin.

  • The skin is the largest organ in our body, and I believe it is important to not only treat the outer skin, but the inside as well. I utilize a holistic skincare approach because I think it is important to focus on the bigger picture of skin health and self-care. Aside from promoting natural ingredients, it is also essential that we are making good lifestyle choices, and caring for our body health. I believe Korean skincare’s gentle approach to skincare, with emphasis on protecting and strengthening the skin’s barrier, is a very effective way in treating and truly caring for the skin. By combining a holistic skincare approach and the intentional, consistent practices of Korean skincare, I am confident that we can work together to achieve the best results for your skin!
